Since opening its doors in 2008, Coláiste an hInse has always prided itself in its commitment to the arts. We have welcomed hundreds from our local community to musical productions of Billy Elliot, We Will Rock You, Oliver, FAME, Oliver and many more.
One key staple of Coláiste na hInse’s arts program is The Lady Gregory Project. This project gives students full control over the production, financing and performance of an Irish play of their choosing. This has led to very successful productions of The Lonesome West by Martin McDonagh, The Unmanageable Sisters by Deirdre Kinahan and CNI’s award-winning performance of John Breen’s Alone It Stands. It has also led student writing and producing their own production. Plays such as She, Letter to a Ghost and Untethered have all been staged inside the Coláiste’s An Grianan space, our outdoor courtyard or the state-of-the-art Droichead Arts Centre in Drogheda.
