Dearfacht

Coláiste na hInse has developed a unique initiative to promoting positive behaviour among students with the “Dearfachas” (Positivity) programme. Good attitude, conduct and manners are rewarded through the school’s Nótaí Maithe. Each Rang competes to win the Iomaíoct Nótaí Maithe every term, helping to foster a sense of teamwork and belonging in our ranganna.

Dearfachas is also reinforced with our Réalt na Míosa competition, where the student who best reflects our values of dearfachas, bród agus uaillmhian in reaching for their réalt eolais is recognised in front of their peers. In our end of the year awards students are also rewarded with the Réalt Eolais, Gradam Acadúil and the Dearcadh honours.

Attendance is a cornerstone of Coláiste na hInse’s educational vision as we believe it is essential for every student to attend school every day. Students with full attendance for the month receive the Gradam Tinrimh, while the students with full attendance are rewarded with the Corn Óir at the May Réalt na Míosa.

An unrivalled aspect of this vision is Lá Dearfachas, where we bring every student and staff member away as a clan for a day of activities and fun. In recent years we have gone ice-skating, bowling, to the cinema and had circus acts performing in the Coláiste!
