Important Information for Incoming Idirbliain Dáltaí and Tuismitheoirí
Hopefully dáltaí are close to being fully prepared for the Idirbliain year ahead. An updated Introduction Letter to Idirbliain is available here, and it has also been emailed to all students. If you have not received the email, please contact Máistir McCabe.
The key information is that the second work experience week will be January 21st-25th. Also, for those of you that intend to work with younger children on your work experience (primary school teaching, creche, coaching etc), you must complete the Garda Vetting Process. See https://vetting.garda.ie/Application/About for more details and discuss vetting with the people providing you with work experience. The process will take at least eight weeks, so get started now!
Make sure to be ambitious in securing your work experience- it should be your dream career, rather than an easy option.
We look forward to welcoming Idirbliain dáltaí back to school on August 23rd!
Dáltaí Complete Junior Gaisce
A small cohort of our 2u bhliain daltai who were taking part in the Junior Gaisce Pilot programme recently completed the “Adventure Journey” section of the programme. These daltai have been completing various components of the programme throughout the year. The programme was broken down into three of the following sections: (i) Personal Skills; (ii) Community Involvement; (iii) Physical Recreation. Howth Head provided the final obstacle for our daltai! It’s safe to say that all of the daltai excelled in the 10km route. A very well done to all daltai involved, and a special mention to M. Gallagher for running such a cohesive programme! Our daltai will be among the first in the country to collect a President’s Medal in the coming weeks to highlight their hard work throughout the academic year!
