Annual Saint Vincent de Paul Hamper Appeal Underway

Colaiste Na Hinse are doing the annual Christmas hamper appeal. We would like everyone to bring in at least on non-perishable food item to put in the box in their base room. The deadline is for the 10th December.

There is a box in every base room for each class to put the food in. When the deadline comes, we will judge the boxes and see which class has the best box.

Food we would like you to bring in includes: Christmas cake, selection boxes, crisps, sweets, turkey or ham voucher. Tinned food: tinned fruit, vegetables, tinned soup, tinned spaghetti or baked beans. Drinks: tea or coffee, sugar, soft drinks. Cereals/carbohydrates: any breakfast cereal, noodles, rice or pasta.

Boys' Soccer Season Underway

The 1st year boys soccer team off to a flying start with a 4-0 victory at home to Skerries C.C. A cagey opening half ended 0-0, in part thanks to a good save by keeper Enda O'Carroll. After the break the lads increased the tempo and scored 2 goals in 3 minutes.'Fox in the box' Ryan Graham broke the deadlock after a loose ball fell to him in the inside the penalty box and his snapshot took a kind deflection to open the scoring, although he claims it was going in anyways. Less than 2 minutes later, Kobi Ndebs doubled the lead with a cracking finish from the edge of the box after a good dribble. He then took his tally to 2 for the day seven minutes later to all but secure the 3 points after the keeper spilled a high awkward delivery and he finished from 3 yards out. Sean Mc Carthy rounded off the scoring with 6 minutes remaining after a breakaway as Skerries had pushed up.

There was great bród shown in defence to maintain their clean sheet as they held off any late efforts. Skipper for the day Caelem Tunstead led with Aidan Clarke solid all game. Daebhan Molloy excelled in midfield throughout in what was a very solid opening performance from the lads. Next 2 games are up against Dunshaughlin and Ardgillan.
