The 1st year boys soccer team off to a flying start with a 4-0 victory at home to Skerries C.C. A cagey opening half ended 0-0, in part thanks to a good save by keeper Enda O'Carroll. After the break the lads increased the tempo and scored 2 goals in 3 minutes.'Fox in the box' Ryan Graham broke the deadlock after a loose ball fell to him in the inside the penalty box and his snapshot took a kind deflection to open the scoring, although he claims it was going in anyways. Less than 2 minutes later, Kobi Ndebs doubled the lead with a cracking finish from the edge of the box after a good dribble. He then took his tally to 2 for the day seven minutes later to all but secure the 3 points after the keeper spilled a high awkward delivery and he finished from 3 yards out. Sean Mc Carthy rounded off the scoring with 6 minutes remaining after a breakaway as Skerries had pushed up.
The Under 15 team have made a strong start to the season, following up a win against Skerries with a 1-1 draw against local rivals St. Mary’s. This week they defeated Ardgillan 1-0 in another tight encounter.
The Under 17 team kicked off their league season by earning a valuable point in a 2-2 draw with Coláiste Rís in Dundalk. They now have upcoming matches against Lusk, Marist and De la Salle in a very competitive group.
The Under 19 team enjoyed a helter-skelter encounter with Dunshaughlin in a 3-3 draw, before losing to St. Joseph’s the following week to complete their league campaign.
