Alone It Stands Claims Bord Gáis Energy Student Theatre Award

"Alone It Stands", produced by Coláiste na hInse under the school's Lady Gregory Project, won the Judges' Choice Award for the best student drama in Ireland this year!

The play was nominated for the Bord Gáis Energy Student Theatre Awards last week, with the cast given the opportunity to perform on the stage at the Bord Gáis Theatre in front of a packed house. The judges praised the cast for a production of a "higher standard than many professional shows". The dáltaí were thrilled by the opportunity to perform on the vaunted stage.

A second drama, "Only Dull People are Brilliant at Breakfast" written by Leaving Certificate student Carl Morris, was also nominated for an award in another fantastic year for drama within the school. Over forty students, including the writers, producers, directors and cast from both plays, attended the awards ceremony at the Bord Gáis Theatre last week.
